For this young man from Sri Lanka, his dreams literally connected him to the heights. And it is that he has managed to break the Guinness record for the highest catch of a cricket ball.

The hero of this story is called Thimothy Shanon Jebaseelan And he is currently in Australia, the place that saw him reach his highest goal.

“Breaking a Guinness World Record title is my dream. Ever since I was a child I have been dreaming about this,” said Thimothy.

The young man successfully achieved the highest catch of a cricket ball in history, which hurtled towards him at dangerously high speed from a drone that was at a height of 119,86 m.

The previous record was 114 m, achieved by Kristan Baumgartner, UK, in 2019.

This was not the Sri Lankan’s first attempt at catching a cricket ball. Already in 2019 he ventured to break the record, without success, and the only thing he managed to break was his finger.

With his new achievement, Thimothy hopes to stay in Australia on a global talent visa and thus fulfill his other dream: to live in this country.

In 2018, Thimothy used all his savings to buy a one-way plane ticket to Sydney. He found a job and even helps raise money for orphans and widows living in Sri Lanka.
